Camera permission
Camera permission is the approval a browser or phone asks for before a site is allowed to switch on your webcam, and it is granted to one site at a time rather than once for the whole device. Without it, a cam2cam or two-way video feature will not start at all.

Where you see it
The prompt appears as a small bar or popup the moment you click a cam2cam or video-chat button. The standing answer, once you have given one, lives in the browser's site settings or in the device's own privacy panel.
Why it matters
Allowing it once often leaves the site permanently allowed, so a later visit may open your camera without asking again - worth checking if anyone else uses the device. The permission also only controls access, not what happens next: once you are streaming, you are relying on the platform's stated rules about recording and on whatever is visible in the room behind you.
