Private message
A private message is a one-to-one text message to a performer that sits outside the public room chat. Most platforms gate it behind an account and some form of spending - a token balance, a past purchase or a paid membership.

Where you see it
You send one from a message icon on a performer's profile or beside the room chat panel, and any reply lands in an inbox attached to your account.
Why it matters
Private here means hidden from other viewers, not private in general: the message is stored by the platform, tied to your account and readable by moderation if a report is made. A message is also not a booking - nothing is agreed or reserved until whatever the platform actually charges for has been paid.
