Room topic
The room topic is the one-line note a performer pins at the top of a public cam room saying what is happening right now - a tip goal, the price of a request, a countdown, or a rule for the chat.

Where you see it
It sits above or beside the chat box in free chat, and a room bot often repeats it into the chat feed every few minutes.
Why it matters
It is the room's live price list and house rules in a single line, set by the performer and changed whenever they like, so it - not the site's help pages - tells you what a given tip is meant to buy. Reading it costs nothing and commits you to nothing, and it is not a contract either side can be held to.
