Malware warning
A malware warning is the block screen your browser, operating system or security software shows when the address you are opening appears on its list of sites known to distribute harmful files or run harmful scripts. It is a judgement made by the tool you are using, not a statement from the site.

Where you see it
As a full-page screen before the site loads, or as a flagged download after the fact. On adult sites it is often triggered by an ad network's domain or a redirect hop rather than by the platform you meant to open.
Why it matters
These lists are imperfect in both directions: a warning can be stale or catch a shared ad host, and a page with no warning proves nothing about a file you download from it. Treat it as a stop sign rather than a verdict - go back to the address you know is right and start again from there. The one response worth avoiding is clicking through to install whatever the page was offering.
