Blocked user

A blocked user is an account you have shut out of contact with you: blocking stops their private messages arriving and hides their chat from your view. Performers use the same control to bar a viewer from their room.

Where you see it

The option sits in the small menu that opens when you click a name in chat or in a message thread, normally next to Report, and blocked accounts collect in a block list in account settings where you can undo them.

Why it matters

Blocking is the durable version of muting: it survives leaving the room and covers messages, not only the chat you happen to be watching. It does not tell anyone at the platform what happened, though, so if the behaviour broke the rules, blocking alone leaves moderators unaware and the report control is the part that reaches them.
